The oral history project at the Nebraska Jewish Historical Society began as a hobby of dentist Ben Nachman after his retirement in 1995. Over the next fifteen years, he conducted hundreds of interviews and collected stories of social and religious engagement in the Jewish community. NJHS has continued documenting the complexities of Jewish life in the heartland through oral histories. The Goldstein Family Supporting Foundation has provided essential support for this project.
